TVI - Midland, Georgia
Make an impact supporting students who are visually impaired by providing high-quality instruction and services within a vibrant educational community. This contracted, onsite position is available for the 2026–2027 school year and offers both full-time and, in some circumstances, part-time options depending on the number of hours you seek. You’ll have the chance to work collaboratively to determine the most suitable age group for your skills and preferences, and your input will be valued in placement discussions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold an active Georgia Educator Certificate specifically for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Prior experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired preferred, with comfort consulting on diverse caseloads
- Strong organizational skills and willingness to complete daily logs to document student services
- Ability to build rapport with students and staff, adapting instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs
- Committed to onsite work (remote/virtual candidates are not eligible for this opening)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services for visually impaired students across grade levels, tailoring instruction to individualized educational plans
- Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement accessibility strategies and accommodations
- Maintain thorough records and daily service logs per district requirements
- Participate in pre- and post-planning days to ensure continuity and quality of instruction
- Engage in IEP meetings, advocating for student needs and appropriate resources
