Desired Qualifications:
- Active Oregon state certification/licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired, especially in K-12 settings
- Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive educational materials
- Ability to assess student needs and tailor instruction accordingly
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, families, and educational teams
- Proficiency delivering both in-person and virtual instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and adapt curricula to meet the individual needs of visually impaired students across multiple grade levels
- Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate documentation of student progress
- Provide consultation to general and special education staff on strategies and accommodations for visually impaired students
- Collaborate with families, orientation & mobility specialists, and related service providers
- Advocate for access to resources and support for students in a variety of educational settings
