This contract opportunity runs from June 8, 2026, through July 16, 2026, offering a chance to provide impactful educational services within a specialized setting. The position is conveniently scheduled Monday through Thursday, 8:45 am to 12:45 pm, for a total of 20 hours per week—all within a single building.

In this role, you will work with a caseload of approximately 10-15 students. The district offers a supportive environment dedicated to serving students with significant behavioral and physical exceptionalities, fostering both learning and growth.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI/BVI)
  • Prior experience instructing students with visual impairments in a school environment
  • Ability to deliver individualized and group educational services
  • Keen understanding of adaptive technology and instructional strategies for visual disabilities
  • Comfortable working in a setting with students exhibiting severe behavioral and physical needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction, support, and adaptations for visually impaired students
  • Develop and implement lesson plans in alignment with individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate closely with staff and families to maximize student success
  • Monitor and document student progress and make data-driven adjustments as needed
  • Utilize specialized resources, including Braille and assistive technology, to support student access
  • Participate in meetings and consults as required
