An exciting contract opportunity is available for a certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students at a school for the blind near Ellicott City, MD. As a TVI, you'll play a pivotal role across various grade levels, collaborating with dedicated educators and families to develop and implement individualized education plans. Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland TVI licensure required
- Experience teaching K-12 students preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instruction methods for diverse student needs
- Proficiency in Braille and assistive technology is an asset
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to visually impaired students in grades K-12
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educational staff, administrators, and families
- Provide training and resources for teachers and support staff
- Assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed
- Support students in developing independence and self-advocacy skills
