This contract opportunity focuses on supporting students with visual impairments across elementary, middle, and high school age groups for the 2026-2027 academic year. Based near Fort Bragg, NC, this full-time role spans from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027, following a Monday through Friday schedule with 37.5 hours per week.
You will empower students to thrive by utilizing specialized teaching methods and collaborating closely with educational teams. Multiple positions are available, providing an exciting environment to share expertise with other professionals in the field.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher) is required
- Demonstrated skill in adapting curriculum and instruction for visually impaired students
- Experience working with students at elementary, middle, and/or high school levels is highly valued
- Familiarity with district standards and individualized education planning
- Capability to conduct formal and informal student assessments
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration abilities
- Prior participation in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction using evidence-based strategies tailored for students with visual impairments
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) according to district guidelines
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor and report on student progress
- Prepare for and actively participate in ARD meetings and contribute to team planning
- Collaborate with staff and families to promote an inclusive educational environment
