Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher)
- Demonstrated expertise working with visually impaired students across all grade levels
- Familiarity with best-practice instructional methods and district-required strategies
- Strong skills in both informal and formal assessments of student progress
- Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Experience preparing for and attending ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction to students who are visually impaired at the elementary, middle, and high school levels
- Develop effective learning materials and activities to meet diverse needs within your caseload
- Conduct ongoing student assessments and use results to adjust teaching methods
- Collaborate with faculty, families, and related service providers to maximize student potential
- Prepare for and actively participate in ARD meetings to support individualized education goals
- Maintain thorough documentation and ensure compliance with all district procedures
