Make a meaningful impact supporting students across elementary, middle, and high school levels as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This contract position spans the 2026-2027 academic year (August 10, 2026 – May 27, 2027), providing full-time hours—Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week. You’ll collaborate with colleagues to adapt curriculum, develop effective learning materials, and foster an inclusive environment that enables all students to achieve their full potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher)
- Experience designing and delivering instruction to students with visual impairments
- Skilled in adapting instructional methods and curriculum materials per district guidelines
- Proficient in conducting ongoing, individualized assessment using both formal and informal tools
- Strong communication abilities, especially in ARD/IEP and interdisciplinary team meetings
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to visually impaired learners at the elementary, middle, and high school levels
- Modify and implement curriculum in line with student needs and district standards
- Administer and document assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction
- Participate in preparation for, and attendance at, ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings as required
- Work closely with staff, families, and specialists to ensure comprehensive student support
