This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work with elementary, middle, and high school students, providing essential support and instruction from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027. The position will keep your weekdays dynamic with a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, totaling 37.5 hours each week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support based on best practices for visually impaired learners.
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods in alignment with district standards and goals.
- Assess student achievement through regular formal and informal evaluations to monitor progress.
- Prepare for and actively participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings to develop and review individualized education plans.
- Collaborate with staff, families, and related service providers to support students’ academic and functional needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher).
- Demonstrated experience or training in teaching students across a range of grade levels and abilities.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive instructional strategies for visually impaired students.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and student-centered teaching.
