Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with visually impaired students in school settings preferred
- Proficient in developing and implementing instructional materials and strategies tailored to individual needs
- Strong assessment skills, including both formal and informal testing
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities for effective collaboration with educators and families
- Knowledge of IEP development and participation in ARD (Admission, Review, Dismissal) meetings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various grade levels
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to maximize accessibility and independence for students
- Conduct ongoing student achievement assessments and maintain accurate documentation
- Prepare for and participate actively in relevant ARD meetings
- Collaborate closely with other teachers, related service providers, and school staff as needed to promote student progress
- Stay current with best practices and compliance with district and state educational requirements
