Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired providing vital support to students in elementary, middle, and high school settings. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (37.5 hours per week). You'll work collaboratively within an educational environment, creating accessible learning experiences and advocating for student success.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher)
- Experience in developing and implementing instructional plans tailored for students with visual impairments
- Confidence supporting a diverse caseload across various grade levels
- Ability to assess student progress through formal and informal measures
- Familiarity with relevant documentation and preparation for ARD meetings
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with visual impairments according to district guidelines
- Develop methods and materials that accommodate the unique needs of each learner
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student achievement and adjust strategies as needed
- Actively prepare for and participate in ARD meetings, ensuring student goals and needs are communicated clearly
- Collaborate with staff, families, and other professionals to foster a supportive environment
- Maintain accurate records and stay updated with best practices in visual impairment education
