Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Possesses a current Pennsylvania teaching credential as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Demonstrated experience working with children or adolescents in educational settings (K-12 preferred)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner effectively with staff, students, and families
- Ability to travel throughout York County for itinerant assignments
- Organizational skills to manage caseloads across multiple districts
- Passion for inclusive education and adapting materials for diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support for students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including making recommendations for adaptations and accessibility
- Partner closely with general and special education staff to facilitate inclusion in the classroom
- Consult with parents/guardians, district staff, and related services providers
- Conduct assessments and monitor student progress
- Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with state and district guidelines
