Make a difference as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) working with students across K-12 in a vibrant, collaborative educational community. This contract assignment is ideal for an educator with a passion for supporting visually impaired learners and providing specialized instruction across several districts within York County. You’ll play an integral role as an itinerant TVI, traveling between schools and collaborating with district teams to deliver high-quality, individualized support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possess a valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate specific to Visual Impairment
- Experience supporting K-12 students with varying levels of visual impairment preferred
- Strong knowledge of adaptive tools, instructional technology, and accessible curriculum development
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, educators, and families
- Comfortable working as an itinerant teacher and traveling within York County as needed
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to visually impaired students in multiple partner districts
- Assess student needs and develop goals tailored to each learner’s strengths and areas for growth
- Collaborate with special and general education staff to modify curriculum and adapt materials
- Train district staff on accessibility tools, best practices, and student support strategies
- Maintain timely documentation and participate in IEP meetings, progress reporting, and compliance activities
- Work onsite in coordination with school teams throughout the academic year (August 18, 2025 – June 1, 2026)
