Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching license for teaching the visually impaired
- Recent experience working with K-12 students
- Knowledge of assessments, individualized instruction, and IEP implementation for visually impaired students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working alongside district staff and families
- Reliable transportation and flexibility for traveling between multiple school sites
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and adaptations for students with visual impairments, onsite at various school locations
- Support students’ academic, social, and functional goals as outlined in their IEPs
- Participate in team meetings and partner with general and special education teachers
- Provide consultative services, training, and advocacy for student needs within diverse educational environments
- Develop and adjust materials and resources to ensure accessibility
- Maintain accurate documentation on student progress
