Teacher for the Visually Impaired - New Oxford, Pennsylvania

Empower students to thrive by supporting learners with visual impairments throughout York County as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). This contract position offers the unique opportunity to serve K-12 students across multiple districts, including Southern, South Eastern, and Dallastown. You’ll work onsite in schools, collaborating closely with district staff in an itinerant capacity, delivering high-quality direct and consultative support to ensure access to education for every student.
The assignment is scheduled to begin August 18, 2026 and conclude June 1, 2027, spanning the full academic year.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active, full certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Pennsylvania
- Background working with K-12 students with visual impairments preferred
- Experience supporting students in school settings, ideally across multiple sites
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with school teams
- Flexibility to travel within York County among designated districts
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and consultative services to students with visual impairments
- Assess students’ needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adapt curricula and materials for accessible learning
- Partner with educators and district staff to maximize student access and inclusion
- Travel between school sites as part of an itinerant service model
