Exciting opportunity available for a dedicated educator specializing in supporting individuals with visual impairments. This contract position provides essential services within K-12 settings, working across various school districts in York County. As an onsite Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality instruction and resources to students, ensuring access to the curriculum and promoting independence.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and current Pennsylvania teaching certification for Visually Impaired
- Experience working with students who have visual impairments, preferably in a K-12 environment
- Strong assessment, instructional, and consultative skills tailored to visually impaired learners
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, and related service providers
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities
- Flexibility to travel between multiple school sites within York County
- Commitment for the duration of the assignment, from August 18, 2025 through June 1, 2026
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct specialized instruction and consultation as an itinerant TVI
- Collaborate with school staff in Southern, South Eastern, and Dallastown districts to adapt and modify curriculum materials
- Support development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for visually impaired students
- Train and support classroom teachers and paraprofessionals on strategies and technology for visual impairments
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in a timely manner
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings
