Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Glen Burnie, MD

Key Qualifications:
- Active Maryland Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure is required
- Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision preferred
- Familiarity with Braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive curriculum materials
- Ability to assess, plan, and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction to students in grades K-12, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet diverse visual needs
- Evaluate and monitor student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
- Create an accessible classroom environment that fosters independence and learning for students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to support student goals
- Utilize Braille, tactile graphics, and technology appropriate for students’ abilities
- Advocate for student needs, supporting transitions and promoting positive outcomes
