Qualifications:

  • Valid Maryland TVI (Teacher of Visually Impaired) licensure required
  • Experience or training with K-12 students in educational settings
  • Strong understanding of specialized instructional methods and assistive technology for the visually impaired
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Passion for making education accessible and meaningful

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in a school-based setting
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Adapt curriculum materials to meet the unique learning needs of each student
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to promote student success
  • Utilize Braille and assistive technology, teaching students essential skills for academic and life goals
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and progress reporting
