Key Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Education (MA DOE) license for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
- Passing MTELs required
- Previous experience or training in teaching students with visual impairments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a school setting and adapt to various instructional needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, both individually and in small groups
- Develop, adapt, and implement individualized instructional materials and strategies
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to ensure accessible learning environments
- Monitor and assess student progress; participate in IEP meetings and contribute to progress reports
- Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding best practices and support for students with visual impairments
