Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Certification – Teacher of Students with Disabilities Standard or Teacher of the Handicapped Certificate (required)
- New Jersey Certification – Teacher of the Visually Impaired Standard (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting children with disabilities
- Willingness to pursue Teacher of the Visually Impaired Certification within two years
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs, adapting lessons to meet each student’s needs and interests
- Collaborate with school leaders and participate in IEP meetings
- Employ various instructional techniques and behavioral interventions
- Support students’ daily living skills, personal care, and pool activities
- Maintain thorough records, attend staff meetings, and engage with families as needed
