Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Visual Impairment (TVI) or pending licensure in the state
- Previous experience supporting K-12 students who are visually impaired
- Skilled in writing and implementing IEPs and adapting curriculum materials
- Strong understanding of assistive technology and alternative communication methods
- Excellent communication abilities to collaborate with classroom staff, students, and families
- Organizational skills to manage caseloads and documentation efficiently
- Compassionate, flexible, and dedicated to advocating for student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and create tailored instructional plans
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction, using Braille, large print, or audio materials as appropriate
- Modify learning environments and implement accommodations to support access and participation
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, service providers, and families to foster an inclusive setting
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and adjust strategies to achieve optimal student outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expertise on visual impairment strategies
