Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Visually Impaired students (TVI).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience working with students who are blind or have low vision preferred.
- Proficiency in Braille, orientation and mobility concepts, and the use of adaptive technology.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable in dynamic learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess student abilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to visual needs.
- Deliver engaging, accessible instruction within both classroom and resource settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure full educational participation.
- Recommend, implement, and support the use of assistive technology.
- Provide instruction in Braille, daily living skills, and mobility as appropriate.
- Advocate for student accommodations and promote increased independence.
