Teacher for the Visually Impaired - Lehi, Utah

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with a specialization in visual impairment or blindness.
• Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a school setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of adaptive technology and Braille literacy.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt lessons and instructional materials for diverse student needs.
• Comfortable working with IEP teams and developing individualized education plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in individual and group settings.
• Assess students’ needs and abilities to design and implement appropriate instructional strategies.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure full access to the curriculum.
• Provide training and guidance on adaptive technologies and resources.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and progress monitoring of educational plans.
• Advocate for student accessibility and inclusion throughout the school community.
• Maintain comprehensive records and document student progress according to school and legal guidelines.
