Desired Qualifications:

- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to engage students at varying skill levels
- Ability to collaborate with general and special education staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Deliver direct instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs, including Braille literacy, use of assistive technology, and orientation/mobility techniques
- Serve as an advocate and educational resource for students, parents, and educational staff
- Assess students’ progress and adapt instructional methods as necessary for continual development
- Facilitate classroom modifications and access to curricular materials
- Provide regular consultation and training for teachers and support staff regarding best practices and accommodations
