Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- State Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience working 1:1 with pediatric or school-aged students is highly valued
- Ability to adapt lessons and instructional materials to meet unique learning needs
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working with families, teachers, and support staff
- Willingness to be onsite Monday through Friday in a school-based setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction focused on the educational and developmental needs of a student who is visually impaired
- Create and adapt materials into accessible formats, utilizing braille, large print, or assistive technology
- Actively participate in IEP development, goal tracking, and progress reporting
- Work closely with educational teams to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Monitor and record students’ progress, making instructional adjustments as necessary
