What you’ll need to succeed:
- Valid Oregon Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification/Licensure
- Experience working with visually impaired students, ideally across the K-12 spectrum
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Proficient in creating accessible educational materials and adapting instruction to diverse needs
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Reliable transportation for travel within the listed counties, if delivering in-person services
- Comfort with technology platforms for virtual instruction, if selecting VOCO
- Flexibility to adjust to varying student needs and diverse school environments
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering direct instruction and support to K–12 students who are blind or visually impaired
- Assessing student needs and developing individualized educational plans
- Consulting and collaborating with general education staff, families, and related service providers
- Developing or adapting instructional materials and classroom strategies
- Advocating for students' access to curriculum and inclusion in school activities
- Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records
