Key Qualifications:
- Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or equivalent credentials
- Proficiency in teaching braille; experience as a Braillist is a strong advantage
- Previous work with high school students with visual impairments preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with school teams and families
- Ability to individualize instruction and advocate for accessibility solutions
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction in braille, assistive technology, and adaptive skills to high school students
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support student integration in classroom activities
- Assess individual student needs and design effective instructional strategies
- Support the development of student independence, self-advocacy, and academic progress
- Implement and contribute to IEP goals, progress reporting, and relevant documentation
Compensation & Benefits:
- W2 contract position with competitive pay ranging from $41 to $46 per hour
