As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), you’ll interact with high school students, enhancing your expertise while working alongside professionals who bring different teaching and leadership styles. Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Skilled in teaching braille; Braillist experience preferred
- Experience working with high school-aged students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Able to begin as soon as possible and work through May 21, 2027
Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction to visually impaired high school students, tailoring lessons to individual needs
- Teach and reinforce braille literacy
- Collaborate with educational staff, administrators, and families
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjustment of materials
