Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with visual impairments, ensuring educational goals are met
- Adapt standard curriculum materials and resources to accessible formats (Braille, large print, audio, etc.)
- Collaborate with general and special education staff, families, and related service providers to foster student growth
- Conduct vision assessments and assist in the development and monitoring of IEPs
- Advocate for the needs and rights of students with visual impairments
- Provide ongoing support, training, and consultation for staff and caregivers
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with an endorsement or credential for teaching students with visual impairments
- Experience working in school-based settings preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to effectively adapt materials and teaching methods for various accessibility needs
