This contract role, set in a welcoming educational environment near Andover, MA, is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled VI Teacher to work with students of varying ages and needs. Full-time and part-time positions are available for the upcoming school year, offering flexibility to fit your schedule.
Key Qualifications:
- Active VI Teacher License and MA DOE License required
- Successful completion of all MTELs
- Demonstrated experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or similar role
- Strong understanding of adaptive learning methods and assistive technology
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with both students and colleagues
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies for students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to promote student success
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction based on individual learning plans
- Provide guidance in the use of specialized resources and technology to support students’ educational access
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
