Qualifications:
- Hold an active Visually Impaired Teacher License with MA DOE
- Successful completion and passing scores on the MTELs
- Proven skills in adapting curriculum and devising individualized education strategies for students with visual impairments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Commitment to advancing inclusion and educational access for students with visual challenges
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services onsite to visually impaired students across grade levels
- Develop and implement IEPs and appropriate instructional materials customized for diverse visual needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, orientation & mobility specialists, and support staff
- Provide training, resources, and support for students, families, teachers, and staff on accessibility and assistive technology
- Monitor student progress; maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Adapt learning environments and materials to ensure equitable educational access
