Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid and active VI Teacher License and MA DOE License required
- Successful completion of MTELs
- Solid background in educational strategies for visually impaired students
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, students, and families
- Previous experience in schools preferred
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in individual and group settings
- Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet the unique needs of each learner
- Assess student progress, develop IEP goals, and maintain accurate records
- Consult with classroom teachers and staff to promote accessibility and inclusion
- Utilize specialized equipment and technology to enhance students’ learning experience
- Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal guidelines related to special education
