Key Qualifications:
- Active FL DOE TVI license required
- Experience providing direct instruction in braille and assistive technology
- Ability to adapt curriculum and classroom environments for students with visual impairments
- Strong collaboration skills to work alongside co-teachers, instructional staff, and families
- Commitment to maintaining licensure, professional standards, and ongoing education
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction in braille and technology to blind and visually impaired students
- Coach instructional staff on the implementation of appropriate accommodations
- Adapt classroom spaces and curriculum materials to meet individual needs
- Offer guidance and training to families on braille and accessibility
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and participate in early intervention as needed
- Maintain accurate assessments and document student progress in required systems
- Support and engage in children’s programs and community events
- Pursue relevant professional development and maintain required accreditations
