As a full-time TVI, you’ll join a supportive co-teaching environment and split your caseload between two classrooms, each with approximately 10 students. Your role has an immediate and lasting influence, providing specialized instruction while collaborating with colleagues, families, and the broader community.
Qualifications & Desired Skills:
- Valid FL DOE Teaching Certificate with TVI endorsement required
- Experience teaching students with visual impairments (preferred)
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction in braille and assistive technology to visually impaired students
- Guide and train instructional staff on accommodations and adapted learning methods
- Work closely with families to empower them with braille learning strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings, client assessments, staff conferences, and community events
- Support early intervention goals and continuously seek out professional learning
