Make an impact this summer supporting students with visual impairments in a dynamic educational environment. A talented professional experienced as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired is needed for an engaging Extended School Year (ESY) contract position from June 8, 2026, to July 16, 2026.
Located near Minneapolis, this opportunity involves working Monday through Thursday from 8:45 am to 12:45 pm—totaling 20 hours per week—with a manageable caseload of 10-15 students. You’ll enjoy the advantage of working in just one building, supporting learners in a collaborative setting alongside passionate colleagues.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or Blind/Visually Impaired (BVI)
- Experience supporting students with significant behavioral and physical disabilities is preferred
- Commitment to individualized instruction and adaptive technology integration
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Collaborative mindset and adaptability in educational teams
- Previous ESY or similar summer school experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and accommodations for visually impaired students
- Collaborate with general educators, related service providers, and families
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Utilize accessible instructional materials and assistive technology
- Monitor progress and adjust strategies for maximum student benefit
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
