Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Visually Impaired Teacher License and valid MA DOE License
- Successful completion of the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTELs)
- Experience working with visually impaired students in educational settings
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to accessible, inclusive education
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction tailored to students with visual impairments, utilizing specialized strategies and adaptive technology
- Assess student needs, develop tailored educational plans, and monitor progress toward learning goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, families, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive student support
- Develop and modify materials for accessibility, including tactile, Braille, and large print resources
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and document all required communications
- Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and confidence in each learner
