As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you'll have the support of colleagues and resources to ensure each student has access to the tools and strategies that enable them to thrive both in and out of the classroom. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid certification or credential in teaching students with visual impairments (TVI)
- Experience working with K-12th grade students preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess and adapt instructional materials to meet each student's visual, academic, and socio-emotional needs
- Develop and modify IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Support classroom accessibility through adaptive technology and resources
- Collaborate with general education staff, families, and service providers
- Advocate for students and facilitate their participation in school activities
