Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience or training in K-12 educational settings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for student advocacy
- Ability to design and implement individual educational plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of assistive technology for the visually impaired preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to visually impaired students across all grade levels
- Develop, implement, and track IEPs in collaboration with staff and families
- Serve as a resource for faculty regarding best practices in visual impairment education
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports
- Participate in ongoing professional development
