- Knowledge of IDEA, ADA, and best practices in accessibility
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, teachers, and families
- Ability to train staff and students on use of assistive technology
- Current relevant certifications as required by the state or field
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing student needs and recommending appropriate assistive technology solutions
- Creating and adapting braille and tactile learning materials
- Training staff and students in the use of specialized equipment and software
- Staying current with advances in assistive technology
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support IEPs and student learning goals
- Documenting services and tracking student progress
