Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired by supporting students across a district in the Apopka area. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for traveling professionals who value collaboration, flexible schedules, and making a difference in K-12 education. The district is actively interviewing on 7/21/2026 for this essential role.
You’ll work both on-site and virtually, providing direct and consultative services to a manageable caseload of 15-20 visually impaired students, ages K-12, across multiple schools (2-3 schools per day). Your home base will be the district main office, and administration will collaborate with you to establish a commute and weekly schedule that suits your needs. The position offers a hybrid model—enabling you to combine face-to-face instruction with virtual support.
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida teaching certificate in Visual Impairment (TVI)
- Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification required
- Experience performing educational screenings and assessments for visually impaired students
- Strong preference for prior school-based experience (not required)
- Comfort with multi-site itinerant roles and providing both direct/indirect support
- Ability to manage documentation, collaborate with IEP teams, and communicate professionally
- Background in testing and consultative services
