This contract opportunity for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) with Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification could be the perfect fit. Key Qualifications:
- Professional Florida TVI License required
- OMS (Orientation and Mobility Specialist) Certification required
- Testing and assessment background is essential
- Experience working in schools or with K-12 learners strongly preferred (but not mandatory)
- Ability to provide both direct and indirect/consultative services
- Comfortable traveling between multiple schools, with a home base at the district’s main office
Responsibilities:
- Deliver itinerant TVI and OMS services to roughly 22 students across up to 13 schools, with 2-3 sites visited each day
- Support students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Collaborate with school teams to develop and implement individualized plans
- Conduct screenings, provide consultative services monthly, and manage a diverse caseload
- Assist in the onboarding process and complete all required district and procedural paperwork
