Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Apopka, Florida

As a visually impaired teacher, you’ll enjoy a flexible, collaboratively designed schedule that aligns with your commuting needs. The main office serves as your work hub while you travel to approximately 2-3 schools each day, supporting a range of students district-wide. Services include both monthly consultations and regular screenings, making your testing background essential.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold current Florida certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Possess the Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) certificate (mandatory)
- Preferred: School-based experience supporting visually impaired students (not required)
- Comfortable with itinerant service delivery in a K-12 setting
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation for traveling between multiple campuses
- Familiarity or experience with screening and assessments for visually impaired students
What You'll Do:
- Provide direct and indirect specialized instruction to K-12 students
- Deliver monthly consultative services to school staff and families
