- Ability to assess student needs, adapt curriculum, and create individualized education plans (IEPs)

Key responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in various school environments (pull-out, push-in, or itinerant services)
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students’ needs and progress
- Consult with general and special education teachers to modify curriculum and ensure accessibility
- Teach students Braille, orientation and mobility, as well as self-advocacy and daily living skills
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Communicate regularly with families and related service staff to foster a supportive educational journey
