Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with a specialization as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology, Braille instruction, and adaptive techniques
- Ability to design and implement IEPs for visually impaired students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with families, students, and school staff
- Flexibility and resourcefulness when adapting materials and instructional methods
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and services to students with visual impairments in a variety of school settings
- Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments
- Develop, adapt, and modify curriculum materials
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers on accessibility and inclusion
- Provide orientation and mobility training as appropriate
