Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid Washington Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required
- Must be fingerprinted through OSPI prior to start
- Experience supporting students with a range of visual needs preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a team-focused setting
- Dedication to delivering individualized instruction and developing meaningful accommodations
- Ability to effectively manage and adapt a diverse caseload
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional services to approximately 8 students in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Organize weekly, monthly, and quarterly service minutes to total roughly 15 hours per week onsite
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families to ensure the best learning experience for each student
- Assess student progress, maintain documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Provide consultative support, adaptive technology recommendations, and classroom strategies to general education teams
- Foster a positive and accessible classroom environment
