Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- State Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a 1:1 educational setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to adapt instruction to a variety of learning and visual needs
- Willingness to work on-site throughout the assignment
- Open to travel professionals seeking an impactful assignment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to a student with visual impairment in accordance with their IEP
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities to be accessible and engaging
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement accommodations and modifications
- Monitor and document student progress, communicating regularly with families and team members
- Assist in the integration of assistive technology and other resources to enhance student independence
- Foster a positive, encouraging environment tailored to the student’s unique strengths
