Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Clermont, Florida

Work will include both direct and consultative services, with some responsibilities requiring monthly consults as well as screenings and assessments for students. A background in testing is helpful and, as services will be delivered both virtually and in person, a willingness to provide periodic travel for direct support is important.
The role will provide the district’s main office as your home base with daily travel to 2-3 assigned schools. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff and families to ensure individualized support for students with visual impairments and are encouraged to bring your creativity and commitment to accessible education.
Desired qualifications:
- Florida Professional certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Valid OMS certification (required)
- Experience working with K-12 students; school-based experience is strongly valued
- Strong background in screening, assessments, or testing
- Ability to provide both in-person and virtual services as needed
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities will include:
