This full-time contract opportunity runs from July 31, 2026, to May 26, 2027, offering diverse work with students from early childhood through high school across multiple campuses. The position emphasizes on-site support and district-based assignments for the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado DOE Certification with “Special Education Specialist – Visual Impairment (ages 0-21)” endorsement
- Master’s (or higher) degree in special education visual impairment, or department-approved equivalent
- Experience assessing and teaching students with visual impairments, including administering functional vision assessments
- (Preferred, not required) Orientation & Mobility Certification
- Ability to pass district background checks and fingerprinting
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach
Core Responsibilities:
- Administer, interpret, and document functional vision and Expanded Core Curriculum assessments
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for a diverse caseload spanning birth through 21 years of age
- Deliver specialized instruction, academic support, and orientation & mobility services, including adaptations for students with multiple disabilities
- Innovate classroom and environmental adaptations to promote accessibility and engagement
- Partner with families, team members, and educational stakeholders to maintain comprehensive, actionable records and support student success
- Ensure all practices align with district-wide goals and compliance standards
