Sunbelt Staffing Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Contract 7 days ago Apply

Interviewing is underway for a contract opportunity providing vital support as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in a Baltimore area school cluster. The position is set to begin on August 31, 2026, and continues through June 17, 2027, with the flexibility to explore full-time or part-time (full days) options during the interview process.

You’ll collaborate with a seasoned team, including several other TVIs and an Orientation & Mobility specialist. The primary responsibility is directly delivering vision services per IEPs to students across a designated group of schools. While on-site presence at county school premises is required, you’ll benefit from a school-based hybrid arrangement, attending IEP meetings virtually from within those campuses, which reduces time away from direct student services.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Maryland State Department of Education teaching certificate with Vision endorsement
  • Demonstrated experience or comparable training as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
  • Ability to travel between assigned schools within the cluster, as needed
  • Strong Braille competency is preferred and will be considered for more localized placements
  • Willingness to comply with time-sensitive background check and credentialing requirements (including House Bill 486)
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized vision services as identified in students’ IEPs
  • Support students in multiple school settings, adjusting caseload based on strengths and Braille proficiency
  • Participate in IEP meetings virtually from county-school premises
  • Collaborate closely with other vision staff and school teams to maximize student access and inclusion

This contract offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ access to education while balancing a professional schedule with hybrid support for meetings. Take the next step in your career—apply now to discuss how your expertise can shape educational experiences for visually impaired students!

Compensation for this position ranges from $27.50 to $47.50. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
