Make an impact by supporting the educational journey of students with visual impairments in a dynamic, collaborative learning environment. This school-based opportunity is ideal for dedicated Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) seeking a new challenge with an immediate start and a full-time contract through late May 2027. You will work onsite in the greater Flower Mound, TX area, providing expertise, advocacy, and tailored instruction as part of a flexible floating position.
Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Valid TVI credential, meeting all state certification requirements
- Prior experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in school settings is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of effective strategies for instructing students with visual impairments, including assistive technology and accessible materials
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with staff, students, and families
- Adaptable mindset and willingness to serve a varied, yet-to-be-determined caseload across locations
- Commitment to fostering independence, self-advocacy, and academic success
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct instruction using specialized methods and materials for visually impaired students
- Assess students’ needs, monitor progress, and develop/adjust Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and administrative teams to provide consultation and support
- Train staff on strategies, modifications, and assistive technology
- Advocate for student access and inclusion across learning environments
- Maintain documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
