This full-time, on-site role spans the academic year from late July through late May, serving an itinerant caseload across several campuses. Your specialized skills will help ensure equitable educational access for students with visual impairments, from elementary through high school age, adapting as their needs evolve.
What You’ll Bring:
- Active Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TSVI) licensure is required
- Demonstrated experience or training supporting students who are visually impaired
- Familiarity with assessment, IEP development, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, families, and support teams
- Flexibility to travel between 6 assigned campuses and adapt to changes in caseload
- Ability to effectively work with both school-based and homebound students
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to a caseload of 12-15 students (including at least 3 homebound students)
- Implement individualized education programs and adapt curriculum and instructional strategies
- Promote independence and skill development for students with visual impairments
- Assess vision-related learning needs and monitor student progress
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support
- Travel between elementary, middle, and high schools as assigned throughout the year
- Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with state and federal requirements
