This part-time role requires a commitment of approximately 15 hours per week, providing scheduled weekly, monthly, and quarterly service minutes tailored to individual student needs. This is an onsite-only position, ensuring you have the opportunity to collaborate directly with staff and families.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold current Washington Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification
- Fingerprinting clearance through OSPI is required prior to start
- Proven experience working with children or adolescents with visual impairments in a school setting
- Ability to design and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and provide direct, consultative, and itinerant services
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and ongoing support to students with visual impairments
- Assess student needs and adapt curriculum and instructional materials for accessibility
- Collaborate closely with general and special education staff, support teams, and families
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and service delivery
- Advocate for and facilitate appropriate accommodations and technology access
