Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience or education in Blind/Visual Impairment instruction
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for students with visual impairments
- Comfort with collaborative consultation alongside school staff and families
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Provide in-person instruction to the student twice a month, in 30-minute sessions
- Develop and adapt instructional materials tailored to the individual needs of the student
- Assess the student’s progress and adjust strategies as needed to support academic success
- Offer recommendations to classroom teachers regarding accessible materials and modifications
- Maintain clear documentation of interventions, student progress, and service delivery
- Communicate regularly with the student’s educational team and family to ensure holistic support
