In this impactful contract opportunity, you’ll provide vital support and instruction to students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a full-time, onsite capacity. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through late May 2027, giving you the chance to make a meaningful difference throughout the school years ahead. You’ll be working in a floating position across various schools, with the specific caseload to be determined based on student needs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous experience working with visually impaired students strongly preferred
- Ability to adapt instructional materials and deliver individualized lessons
- Collaborative approach with school staff, specialists, and families
- Strong organizational skills and professional flexibility for floating assignments
- Commitment to fostering independence and achievement in students with visual impairments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to K-12 students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with student needs
- Consult with general education teachers and other service providers to ensure accessibility
- Advocate for student accommodations and inclusion within the school setting
- Travel between assigned school sites as needed to provide services
- Maintain thorough records and monitor progress
- Participate in educational meetings, trainings, and interdisciplinary collaborations
