Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid educator certification and national certification in visual impairment required
- Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments preferred
- Ability to travel between assigned schools within a cluster each day (itinerant role)
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
- Willingness to complete district background check, fingerprinting, and requisite forms
- Commitment to supporting each student’s unique educational needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to a caseload of K-8 students who have visual impairments (approximately 12 students)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to design and implement individualized education plans
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments to enhance accessibility and learning
- Serve as an advocate for students, encouraging independence and self-advocacy
- Maintain detailed records and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings
- Deliver direct instruction across multiple school sites within the assigned clusters
